Sweltering summer days call for some cooling relief packages, such as this miniature yuzu saké flask from Shibata Shuzo. Based in the heart of the Aichi prefecture, Shibata uses water from the mountains that cascade behind the brewery. The water is incredibly lithe, which leads to a delicately brewed saké to serve as the base for this 200 ml citrus-driven alcoholic beverage.
As with all yuzu sakés, there is some perceptible sweetness, but this one comes with a great lip-smacking acidity and a drier base saké that it tones everything out into a neatly packaged, on-the-go pick-me-up for the days when temperatures are too high.
