Shannon Ridge Zinfandel Reserve Two Bud Block 2013

Perched along the ridge top at the upper reaches of High Valley, Shannon Ridge overlooks Clear Lake and Mt. Konocti. It’s home to Clay Shannon, his wife Margarita and their children. Clay’s son Ivan, got the nickname ”Two Bud” at an early age while learning to prune the dormant vines... Two buds per spur, hence the vineyard designation Two Bud. The unique combination of soil composition and micro climate of a singular plot of ground (terroir) is the genesis of the distinctive character of our Single Vineyard Collection wines.

Ripe and round with a dark and mysterious side, enveloped in oak. Black fruits, figs and spices on the nose with hints of toasty oak and vanilla bean. The fruit comes through on the palate as blackberry, dried plum, and dark chocolate. It fills your mouth with good structure and long toasted oak and hazelnut finish.
