Seven Hills Merlot Seven Hills Vineyard 2014 |
This dark ruby colored Merlot from Washington state opens with an appealing mild blueberry bouquet with a hint of cherry-cola and red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, velvety and refined. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused gentle blueberry with notes of white pepper and coffee. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins show very nice length. The Panel suggested pairing this Merlot with a well-marbled ribeye.
The palate is supple and generous with loads of red and black fruits accentuated with vanilla and spice and finishing with both supple fruit and firm, spicy tannins. While drinking well at release, it will improve considerably with a few years of bottle age and should cellar well for up to ten years from vintage.
