Pinot noir's sensitivity to a variety of habitat conditions prompts winemakers to produce the best wines from small, single plots of land with different habitats. This is the beginning of cru development in Marlborough, thanks also to Seresin Winery. 

The Raupo Creek vineyard is mostly situated on the steep bank of the river, on clay soils. Its low yields and ecologically managed cultivation serve it. The biodynamic, unfiltered wine matured for fifteen months in partially new French oak barrels.
