Senorio de Cuzcurrita Rioja 2015 |
The wine presents a clear and brilliant Morello cherry color. The nose is a typical Rioja-style Tempranillo, with abundant red fruit with refreshing minerality and notes of toast, well integrated with the oak. The seductive palate is elegant, complex, enveloping, well balanced and refreshing. The finish lingers on, with plentiful hints of terroir.
Bright ruby colour. Smoked and toasted aromas followed by candied fruit and minty notes. Good acidity, very fine texture and some tension on the palate. It might not be a spectacular wine but it is balanced and displays the trademark finesse of many Rioja Alta reds.
Reduced prune aromas are rubbery, herbal and not fully convincing. On the palate, this is gritty, tannic and tight, with tomatoey acidity. Oaky grapy flavors are compact, while graphite is noted on a finish that's weighted down by bulky tannins.
