Today, Cabernet Sauvignon is made around the world. In the U.S. and South Africa, it is primarily sold as a varietal wine, although some winemakers blend it with Cabernet Franc and Merlot to create the blend known as Meritage. Cabernet is also a key grape in Italy’s Super Tuscan wines and is sometimes blended with Shiraz in Australian wines.
