Intense ruby-red, this Select Terroir Merlot has well-balanced aromas that recall red fruits such as plums and dried cherries accompanied by a light touch of toast. On the palate, it is mild, ripe, and well-balanced.
This wine comes from Peumo, Cachapoal Valley, Chile which is located 10 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, the cool winds blowing through the Rapel Valley allow Carmenere and other red grapes exceptionally long hang time. The aging process includes 40% of the blend in oak barrels for 4 to 6 months. Pairs well with white meats, pastas, vegetable casseroles, and cheeses.
