Run Riot Pinot Noir 2016

This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir is a great value offering. It opens with an intriguing mix of wet tobacco and blackberry pie aromas. The body is light to medium with a good balance of fruit and acidity. There is a surprising density of blackberry and cassis flavors integrated with stone and smoke flavors.

The tannins are mild and the finish is generous, with a touch of black olive at the back end. This is a nice break from the jelly jar California Pinots that seem to be in vogue right now. Pair this Pinot with a prosciutto, fig, arugula, shaved Parmesan and balsamic vinegar flatbread.
