The Mendoza sun tends to tame petit verdot, to calm its tannins and reduce its acidity, transforming it into playful kittens and chunks of chocolate. But that’s not the case in this Terroir Series.
Here we have wild tannins, piercing acidity, and red fruits with lots of cumin notes. The wine was aged in used oak for 12 months and there are no chocolaty flavors at all—just pure wild red fruit. Heads up on this one.
