Old vine Pinot Noir digs its roots into a diverse range of soils from limestone to marl to red silt that add richness to the wine. The nose is comprised of notes of strawberry, violet, and rose, with more complex fragrances of licorice and leather developing with age. A well-structured wine with velvety tannins that will rewards extensive cellaring. Fermentation on the lees in French oak barrels is followed by an extensive aging period of 15-18 months.
Tasting Notes: Produced from old vines planted upwards of 25 years ago, this well-structured wine has velvety tannins and is delicate on the palate. It is aromatic with notes of strawberry, mulberry, violet and rose, with more complex fragrances like licorice and leather developing with age. Enjoy with a range of meats and strong cow-milk cheeses.
