Robertson Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2018 |
South Africa's Robertson co-op was hit by frost in 2017 but Fanus Bruwer made sure to set aside supplies for The Wine Society’s many enthusiasts for this wine! Ripe and delicious in the new vintage, this has touches of stone fruits, with a tantalising hit of lime zest adding some lift.
There's a strong green, herbal edge to the nose of this refreshing white, expressed in waves of lime peel, peppery herbs and green bean. The lightweight and direct palate offers pithy citrus tones that lend a pleasant astringency to the tart finish.
Full bodied with powerful varietal flavours of bell-pepper, green apple and freshly cut grass. Good structure with lovely balancing acidity. Enjoy now with seafood. smoked salmon, roast chicken and pork.
