Roberto Anselmi Capitel Croce 2013 |
The Anselmi Capitel Croce is a complex and persistent estate white wine with rich, creamy fruit flavors. The use of oak adds a subtle and agreeable spiciness to the wine. The brilliant gold with a bright amber hue compliments the of fresh, fruit-forward aroma guided by hints of peach, apple, cream and spring flowers.
This Estate wine comes from ten acres of low-yield, densely planted vines at the top of Zoppega Hill near the Croce shrine in the Monteforte area. The vines are planted on south-facing slopes in limestone soil with grass undergrowth and are trained using a horizontal spurred cordon technique.
Wine maker notes
Immediately following harvest, grapes are de-stemmed and undergo cold maceration followed by a soft pneumatic pressing. Fermentation takes place in French Allier barriques, where the wine is then left to mature sur lie for eight months with regular battonage. Once bottled, Capitel Croce rests in the cellar for nine months before release.
Food pairing
Outstanding on its own or paired with savory dishes such as veal, pork, and pâté. Also a delicious match with goat cheese and spicy fare. Also pair this wine with veal, pork, pâté, goat cheese and spicy food.
The Capitel Croce Anselmi is straw yellow with good concentration of colour. Subtle vanillin and spice aromas are noticeable in the boldly aromatic bouquet. Creamy textured and elegantly fruity with admirable finesse, complexity, and a surprisingly fat, concentrated length.
