This refreshingly lithe, silky Spanish red is made from the deliciously juicy Mencia grape; the delicate Pinot Noir-esque red of northern Spain, which is supported by three fuller bodied red grapes. Its modern packaging suggests a modern wine style but the flavours here are quintessentially dark warm climate Mediterranean in style, with a Spanish twist.
The blend is 90% Mencia , 7% Brancellao, 2% Garnacha Tintorera and 1% Sousão.
This is a sensational red, especially well suited to wintery nights by the fire.
