Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Goldtropfchen Riesling Kabinett 2016 |
Site-typical grapefruit and black currant are touched by wintergreen on an attractively effusive nose. The buoyant palate caresses while delivering succulent fruitiness. A hint of almond cream adds an almost confectionary aura. This is the one Kabinett that, due to its popularity abroad, Annegret Reh exempted from her general “drying-out” of wines carrying that Pradikat, and the present example is, to be sure, unabashedly sweet. But noting that is by no means in itself a criticism. Here, for once in the current collection, the sense of softness agrees with the low acidity one notes on paper - which is one reason the wine tastes as sweet as it does. But the finish remains generously juicy and genuinely refreshing.
Lovely peachy fruit. So generous and succulent that you ask where the lightness and delicacy is. A lovely lass of medium-sweet Mosel riesling that you could drink any time over the next 5 years.
