Fixin produces reds that are distinctively wild with pronounced structure and complexity. Madame Bouvier calls it robust, full, and gamey. Drink now or age for five years.
This is one of the more perfectly balanced wines we've enountered -- a fine example of why so many wine lovers are seduced by Burgundy. It straddles paradoxes -- silky and juicy yet a little earthy -- gently saturated, yet bright with clarity.
The palate recalls the skin of dark cherries with floral overtones; pomergranate and lingonberries also enter the picture. It's drinking beautifullly now, but it's refined structure and appropriate acidity give it several years of cellar-worthiness.
