A late-bottled vintage port is a single-vintage blend that has been aged four to six years in oak casks, unlike a vintage port which ages only two years in wood before bottling. As a result of this extended wood contact, LBV ports have mature, fruity flavors at a younger age, offering much of the character of a vintage port without the wait and at a lower price.

Blend: 55% Touriga Franca, 35% Touriga Nacional, 6% Barroca, 4% Sousao

The LBV is the result of a single year.  His richest brother, the Vintage, is bottled the second year and he, the fourth year.  It is sweeter than the Vintage, more evolved, easier to drink, vigorous, provocative, dense and harmonious.

The flavors of chocolate and cheese are familiar to him. After opening the bottle, it remains at its peak for 15 to 30 days, if properly kept. It is an unfiltered wine that can be drunk immediately or left in the cellar waiting for a promised complexity. 

Grapes: Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca.
