100% Vermentino, this is one of the best representations of an Italian variety we’ve had from California – in fact, taste this blind and it’d be easy to mistake it as Italian. It comes from down in Santa Barbara, where the cooling wind and fog keep acidity very fresh, while there’s a gentle richness and creamy texture as well as aromas of almonds, peach, apricot, and subtle white pepper. Superb.
This bright Vermentino is frisky and biting. Pair its aromas and flavors of dried herbs, mineral notes, and dried fruit with a bowl of steamed clams over fresh noodles.
