The Mossfire Ranch Zinfandel exudes aromas of spicy raspberries, lavender, lilac, and an opulent mouthfeel of velvet cherries, rhubarb, chocolate and peppercorn. The finish is uplifting, with layers of bright acidity dancing on lush tannin. The wine is a blend of primitive and California zinfandel; the progeny of a dusty Paso farmer and a stunning Italian minx.

This brand offers excellent value across the board, and this Zinfandel competes strongly with much more expensive bottlings. The balanced nose offers hearty blackberry, roasted meat, charcoal, violet and black pepper. The dark fruit and purple flowers of the palate are offset by gravelly minerality and dark chocolate flavors.
