Prunotto Dolcetto d'Alba 2017

Bright, blueberry skin, citrus, nutmeg and fresh herbs. Light to medium body, fresh acidity and an easygoing finish.

Dolcetto is a historic wine from Piedmont’s long-established winemaking traditions. Aging occurs in steel vats in order to bring out the expression of aromas and flavors characteristic of this varietal.

Interesting combination of red fruit and earthy flavors, it’s actually very good but different and combines two camps that usually don’t sleep well with each other. Red cherry, cranberry, with tannic, earthy and a pinch of salt, as one other reviewer nailed the call on. It tears at 13.0% alc.. makes for a good afternoon wine and would go very well with many cheese types.
