Always the pretty one of the single vineyard pinots, this wine is bright ruby red, with a crunchy red cherry nose. This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isobel Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road.
Another lovely vintage, a little warmer and drier than 2012, resulting in more flamboyant, darker fruited reds than in the previous year. Hand harvested, 80% destemmed, wild yeast primary fermentation (20 Days total on skins), natural malolactic fermentation in barrel (100% French oak - one quarter new), followed by 15 months aging, racked once. Unfined, unfiltered.
