• 100% Pinot Noir • Planted in 1995 and 1996 • 2,500 vines per acre • Huichicha soils: rocky fertile ground with lots of exposed cobblestones • North/south oriented, which allows for indirect sunlight to influence the even ripening clusters • Three Dijon clones: 115, 114, 113 on Rootstock 101-14 and 3309 • Moonshine Ranch is named for the century-old draughty barn on the property • During the prohibition era, the barn served as a small factory for prune brandy • 100% neutral French oak fermentations • 100% malolactic fermentation • Aged for 10 months in 50% new French oak • 341 cases produced
