Pinot Noir II, von Winning 2015

A deep scent and ripe flavors of dark cherry are accented by smoky, pungent marjoram, with brown spice and caramelized resin from barrel nicely relegated to the background. Hints of marzipan further reinforce the impression of sweet ripeness, but at the same time meatiness and salinity lend savory counterpoint and saliva-inducement on a silken yet brightly juicy palate.

That savor and brightness keeps the ripeness from turning in the least cloying.
