DESCRIPTION
This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
This domaine is better-known for its white wines, but the 2015 Grands Epenots, from vines planted in 1965, is a really serious bottle of Pommard that it would be a mistake to overlook. Creamy red-black fruit, subtle notes of grilled meats, spice and gentle framing of new oak mingle in an incipiently complex bouquet, introducing a full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine, structured around supple, elegantly ripe tannins. Terrific juice.
The spicy, tighter but very slowly growing fine and fresh aromas. Large volume, lots of mouth-watering fruit and pretty gorgeousness. Wow wine – not the massive MOST of energy, goal year ingraining quality – just gorgeous stuff.
