Edelgrund is a noticeable step up from the entry-level Heideboden bottling with additional depth and complexity provided by older vines. The wine is both ripe and savory with a black fruit character of blackberries and cherries accented by spice and minerals without the taste of wood.
Neighboring Hungary influences Burgenland's cuisine, and it’s not unusual to find dishes like goulash or stuffed peppers in the region, all liberally spiced with paprika.
