

Pascal Jolivet Sancerre le Roc 2014 |
Situated 125 miles south of Paris, the Sancerre landscape undulates at an altitude between 650 and 1,300 feet. The Loire River on the Eastern side of the hilly environment creates a relatively temperate micro climate for the wines. Locate high over the village of Saint-Satur, the vineyard of Le Roc encompasses approximately 9 acres, 5 of which are owned by Pascal Jolivet. Exposure here is south/southeast with soils here are composed primarily of flint. The domaine purchased this vineyard in 2011.
The wine is vinified in small 7 hectoliter vertical ovoid tanks (concrete, egg shaped tanks), demi-muids (600l used oak barrels), and temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. and then held on its lees for 12 months.
