Introducing Pegos Claros Claro Red DOC Palmela 2020, a delightful wine made with 100% manually-harvested Castelão grapes. This wine boasts a more premature state of ripeness, which contributes to its refreshing acidity and elegant taste.
Fermented in the lagar for three days with low extraction and completing the process in stainless steel vats, this wine is aged for 14 months, with 40% aged in 500L used French oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel vats. With a clear ruby color, it presents a fruity and slightly vegetal aroma, combining red fruits like strawberries and raspberries with hints of greenery and tobacco leaves. The taste is surprisingly structured and full-bodied, yet smooth, with noticeable acidity and a persistent finish. Best served at 12º-14ºC, this wine pairs excellently with grilled fish and meat, fish dishes, risotto, and roasted meats. It also makes for an excellent appetizer.
