This vintage of Cabernet Franc is more opulent than versions past. The beautiful fragrance of Cabernet Franc is redolent of violets, tobacco leaf, and blackberries. A very weighty palate is more associated with riper Cabernet Sauvignon than the more delicate Franc – so this will pair beautifully with richer braised meat dishes.
The 2017 is tasting great now but will continue to shine for many years in the cellar. An uplifting nose is bursting with aromas of strawberry, cocoa powder and spice. The palate is very soft and textural with dried fruit notes and subtle hints of oak and vanilla. The dried fruit notes linger with hints of baking spices, velvety mouthfeel and firm tannins.
