Bruichladdich Octomore 16.2 Edition Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is born on the windswept shores of Islay, distilled from 100% Scottish Concerto barley and bottled at a commanding 58.1% ABV. Malted to an astonishing 101.4ppm, this whisky takes smoke to new dimensions, yet finds balance through time spent in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks before a final flourish in Madeira and Moscatel wood. The result is a bold and complex expression that captures the untamed spirit of its island home.
On the nose, dried fruits, honeysuckle, and orange blossom drift through waves of Octomore’s signature smoke, laced with nuttiness and toasted oak. The palate is rich and powerful, where caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, and candied peel intertwine with warming spices and maritime salinity. Each sip evokes a campfire by the sea, delivering sweetness and intensity in equal measure.
