Neal Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 |
Vinous 93 points -
"Even in difficult vintages, Mark Neal makes classically delicious wine, so in a benchmark vintage like 2013, he absolutely nails it. The entry-level Napa Valley Cabernet has hallmark aromas of tobacco, cedar, and spice box, along with clear notes of blueberry, loganberry, and black currant. The palate is medium-full with impeccable balance, showing flavors of dark cranberry, cassis, crushed rocks, and warm mulled spices. The finish gives excellent grip and wonderfully integrated tannins. This wine has a broad drinking window, as it really struts its stuff right now, but can easily evolve for another 10 years. Mark is truly one of the most underrated winemakers in Napa." - Tim Coles, 8/2/17
If you are looking for a big, powerfully tannic, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, we have an outstanding example. Jordan Stanley, the newest member of our winemaking team, describes it as a wine with a "generous mouthfeel and fine grain tannins providing the punch." Nutmeg, sage and cocoa aromas mix with cherry, sandalwood and tobacco to make the nose of the wine very attractive and distinctive. Plum, cherry, cedar, violets and olive are some of the flavors in the glass. Definitely a youthful wine that will show more flavor and better texture if decanted and even more after extended aging.
