Long considered one of Waipara's top wineries, Mountford has been in a bit of a hiatus for the past few years in the New Zealand market. With some recent changes there is a re-focus occurring to put the wines back on the top table and with that some rationalization and restructure of labels about to occur.
In the meantime this new release really impressed us when we tasted it recently and it is certainly the best we can recall under this label and at a price unlikely to be seen in the future. It has a wonderful Pinotosity – wafting floral, fruity aromas and finesse, grace and power on the palate.
