Revealing a vivid purple/burgundy color, the Vougeout 1er Cru Les Cras is one of the more powerful, backward wines from Mongeard-Mugneret. Completely destemmed and brought up in 30-40% new French oak, it offers a beautiful perfume of black raspberries, crushed violets, exotic spices, and white pepper. Deep, medium-bodied, incredibly refined and silky, it has high yet integrated acidity, beautiful tension and purity, and a great finish.
This is pure and linear, delivering a beam of cherry, raspberry, stone and spice flavors. Never wavers, staying consistent from start to the lingering finish. Shows terrific balance and harmony
