DESCRIPTION

• Annually released wine-based amaro produced by Forthave Spirits in Brooklyn, New York • 2024 release; third vintage of Forthave MITHRADATES • 34-botanical recipe based on the historical botanical elixir Mitrhridatum, featuring mace, saffron, bitter orange peel, horehound, and rose hip • Red wine base of 100% Noiret grown and vinified by Les Vins de Barbichette in New York’s Finger Lakes region • Botanicals undergo a combination of macerations in alcohol and water and partial redistillation in a 400-liter bain-marie hybrid pot still • Organic, non-GMO sugarcane spirit from Brazil is used for maceration and fortification • Sweetened with organic, raw cane sugar • Rested in a combination of ex–bourbon barrels, Burgundy casks, and stainless steel tanks • NY Farm Distillery License eligible • 24% ABV MITHRADATES is the second expression in the Forthave Spirits “historical” line, created to reimagine ancient medicinal recipes as digestivi. It is inspired by the elixir Mitrhidatum, a formulation attributed to Mithrdates VI and developed to aid immunity to a myriad of poisonous botanicals. The third vintage of this annually released wine-based amaro uses Noiret red wine from New York’s Finger Lakes region as its base and is aromatized with thirty-four botanicals. Because of its wine component, MITHRADATES should be refrigerated after opening.
