Mirassou Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Our Mirassou California Sauvignon Blanc is bright and expressive with flavors of juicy pink grapefruit and mandarin orange that linger on the finish. Notes of melon and guava combine with a slight hint of fresh cut grass to create a crisp acidity and soft mouthfeel.

The grapes for our 2016 Sauvignon Blanc wine were selected from vineyards along the Russian River Valley with a portion from the Lodi Delta. Both regions have characteristically cool evenings and mornings, which allowed the grapes to retain their great natural acidity. The 2016 growing season began late because of an unusually cool and wet spring, contributing to this wine’s excellent, crisp acidity. Summer was also cooler than usual, so we managed leaf canopies to let ample sunlight reach the berries and develop distinct tropical notes in the grapes.
