Michele Chiarlo Barbaresco Reyna 2014 |
Michele Chiarlo's Reyna Barbaresco is a great Piedmontese red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes, grown in Barbaresco. After a manual harvest, vinification process is carried out in steel, beginnig from a maceration of about 18 days in contact with the skins and soft wetting of the cap with the "shower" system, at a temperature between 32 and 27 °C. It follows malolactic fermentation, always in steel. The wine ages at least 2 years, of which 18 months in large barrels before refining in the bottle.
TASTING NOTES
This Barbaresco is characterized by a bright garnet red colour. The nose opens with a fine and noble bouquet, very elegant, characterized by ethereal and red fruits notes, followed by more floral aromas, such as roses and tea. The great olfactory refinement is confirmed on the palate, thanks to a balanced, almost aristocratic taste, which captures the extreme finesse of a sweet and pleasantly finished tannin. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 18 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Barberesco is one of the top red wines of Piedmont, recognized throughout the world, very tied to the winemaking tradition of this region, so as to give its best in combination with the typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, such as ossobuco, risotto and baked lamb.
