This is a super funky, utterly different mezcal with a flavor profile unlike anything else out there. Definitely smokier and spicier than the Montana, the Reserva de la Biosfera shows lots of spicy herbs, tree bark, foresty woods, black pepper, and an unexpectedly pretty floral note.
This ridiculously small batch is a blend of Marmorata and Macrocantha agaves, ultra-rare varietals that present a flavor profile which, like the Montana, is difficult to summarize. I have a feeling I'll be spending lots of time with these exceedingly complex mezcales simply to acclimate my palate and gain deeper understanding of the magic happening in these bottles.
