Production Notes

The grapes for our 2015 Petit Verdot were harvested between Sept. 28 - Oct. 2, 2015, with an average Brix of 24.5. After 7-9 days of stainless steel fermentation on the skins, the must was pressed and the wine finished fermentation. The wine was then aged, on average, for 4-6 months with a combination of new and used, French and American Oak.

Winemaker Notes

The 2015 McManis Family Vineyards Petit Verdot is deep eggplant in color. Aromatically, the wine is full of Blackberry, with some Blueberry. Additional notes of mocha and a faint smokiness are contributed from oak aging. The wine is dense and full of dark berry fruit flavors, with a creamy supple mouth feel. Flavors of fresh berries and mocha linger in the finish.
