Masseria Altemura Sasseo is a Primitivo red wine from the Puglia wine region. Sasseo (Sah-say-oh) is derived from the Italian word "sasso", meaning stone and refers to the abundance of limestone in the area. Great plummy nose, rich and spicy with ripe dark plum and dark chocolate flavours lingering on the palate.
Primitivo food pairings spaghetti and meatballs, vegetarian lasagna, chicken stew and dumplings.
