Partly fermented in oak casks, this full-bodied Pinot Grigio opens with floral aromas of Spanish broom, white spring flowers, vanilla and apple. The palate offers pear, apple, lemon zest and a note of bread crust alongside bright acidity.
Aged sur lie for several months, the wine offers pronounced aromas of apples and acacia blossoms. An elegant, medium-bodied wine with a rich, textured core of expressive fruit.The name Mongris comes from the contraction of "mono variety” and th e Friulano word for pinot grigio, Gris. Pinot Grigio arrived in Friuli Venezia Giulia over 150 years ago, and is now considered an indigenous grape. Today, it is one of the region’s most widely planted white grapes.After destemming, the fruit was m acerated on its skins and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.
