Amygdalos Vineyards were the last hold out for the ancient Vidiano varietal and Iliana has helped revive it. This is the kind of wine you can only get from super old vines, a pure, spring-water-like aroma with the concentration and intensity of nothing but minerals in the form of phenolics (the flavor compound in the skins of grapes).
A wine that wouldn't know fruit if it hit it on the head, you search for it, but all you get is soil and and key herbal characteristic, now indefinitely tied to the variety in my head.
