Maison Roy & Fils Incline 2014 |
The 2014 Maison Roy & Fils Incline is a feminine expression of this vintage. It is a selection of our most refined barrels. Aromatically it shows redfruit, dried herbs, and citrus peel. On the palate it has great depth but is light on its feet. This wine should age nicely for 10+ years.
Tasting Notes
On the richer and riper end of the Pinot spectrum as far as the Oregon version goes, this nicely filled wine delivers plenty of deep well-defined fruit, and its sustained message of juicy cherries is made more appealing yet by the judicious presence of creamy oak. While on the one hand fairly full and slightly velvety in feel, it is buoyed by exceptionally well-integrated acidity that wards off even the least hint of heaviness. It is so carefully composed that there is nothing about it that mandates further age, but we see more complexity and polish in its future if its present charms can be resisted.
