Louis Jadot Savigny-Les-Beaune Rouge Les Vergelesses 2013

The commune of Savigny-lès-Beaune is in the north of the Côte de Beaune and produces 90% red wines. Les Vergelesses is located on the sloping hillside of Bois Noël, near the Pernand vineyards, facing south on light, well-draining soils. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months before bottling.Tasting\t: A refined example of the commune, this wine's silky, succulent wild cherry and raspberry flavors are followed by woodsy impressions of earth and leaves, and are set in a focused, ripe tannic structure.FOOD PAIRING: This will pair well with red or white meats, game and, for older wines, richly flavored sauces.
