Loimer Riesling Seeberg 2015 |
Riesling Seeberg Kamptal Reserve is made from 100% Riesling. The grapes ripen slowly and, therefore, the wines produced from this site in Kamptal show a very fruity expression. Sand and loam alternate here with rich layers of slate. This brings to the wines a fine fruitiness and spice with firm concentration and exposes the real character of the Riesling variety. At the end of October, this handpicked wine is fermented in 70% wooden casks and 30% stainless steel tanks. It is then aged in large Austrian oak barrels for 10 months. This wine is filtered prior to bottling by light sheet filtration. It is also fined prior to bottling with Bentonite.
Seeberg is a very charming wine, delivering a bouquet with a very flowery character mixed with exotic aromas. The minerally, herbal spiciness reflects the terroir so harmoniously. Fruit, sweetness and vibrant acidity reflect a play of rich finesse. A concentrated Riesling with a remarkable structure and lengthy finish rounded off by minerally spiciness and fine tobacco notes.
