Les Tourelles de Longueville Pauillac 2014 |
Named after the turrets that surmount the château of Pichon Longueville, this wine has its own dedicated portion of the vineyard. It is open, generous and full bodied. Ripe berry fruits dominate while still leaving room for the fresh acidity typical of the 2014 vintage.
Made mainly from Merlot from the Ste-Anne plot at the top of the property. Looks quite mature at the rim on the deep ruby. Very classy elevage on the nose. Gentle and aproachable without the rigour of a grand vin but pretty smart for currently drinking with a nice long finish.
The attack is smooth, elegant and subtle, leading into robust structure.
The finish is elegant and long-lasting, carried along nicely by its tannins and nice ripe fruit.
