TASTING NOTES
Crisp and fresh, citrus forward aromas leap from the glass with lemon custard, green apple and subtle hints of a floral bouquet. On the palate, mouthwatering flavors come forward to the front with more citrus, cream and subtle vanilla notes. A smooth finish leaves the palate refreshingly clean.
WINEMAKER NOTES
The California grape harvest of 2016 showed average yields with exceptional quality. The grapes were harvested a bit earlier than usual then they were destemmed, crushed and pressed before fermentation. To add a bit of creaminess, following primary fermentation the juice went through 30% malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged for four months with 40% new French Oak, which added subtle vanilla notes. A small portion of Viognier was then blended in which added complexity along with a delicate floral nose.
FOOD PAIRINGS Versatile and food friendly, serve this Chardonnay with a variety of dishes such as a warm goat cheese and pear salad, shrimp scampi topped with a mango and papaya relish, or lemon and rosemary roasted chicken.
