Laurent Miquel L'Artisan Languedoc 2017

The Miquel family have been making wine in the Languedoc for eight generations on the family estate at Cessenon Sur Orb. The rocky soils and hillside vineyard sites here make it an ideal location for ripening the local Syrah and Grenache grapes.

Dominated by the spicy, savoury red fruit of the Syrah, with plenty of jolly raspberry Grenache fruit providing a juicy lift. Nice and ripe, with a waft of garrigue herbs. Decant a good 30 minutes before serving to allow the full flavour to be revealed. Drink with mature cheese or herbaceous casseroles.
