La Sirene de Giscours Margaux 2016 |
The Sirene de Giscours 2016 is the second red wine of Château Giscours grand cru classified since 1855. Château Giscours is a renowned wine-growing estate in the Médoc, managed by Alexander Van Beek, a talented operations manager whose ambition is to produce wines full of panache. Comprising 300 hectares, the estate has no less than 80 hectares of vines planted on gravelly crests deposited by the Garonne River. These gravelly slopes play a crucial role in the good ripeness of the grapes because they have the advantage of capturing the sun's rays. The grape varieties for this 2016 vintage are 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. This Sirène de Giscours 2016 has benefited from sustainable agriculture and has been aged in oak barrels in order to acquire all the complexity of the great wines of the Margaux appellation.
To the eye, this red wine has a beautiful purple colour before revealing notes of kirsch tea and rose hip on the nose. Topped with a touch of red plum, the aromas of this Bordeaux wine invite you to taste it. On the palate, cloves predominate. The tannins are fine and one finds all the purity and elegance of a good Margaux.
