La Puerta Torrontes 2013 |
Powerful honeysuckle and other floral aromas are characteristic of this unique wine, the grapes for which are grown almost exclusively in Argentina. It has an elegant pale yellow color with hints of green, while on the palate crisp acidity provides a cleanliness and platform for the citrus flavors. Finishes clean and refreshing, with more floral hints.
Harvested from vineyards in the Andes Famatina Valley, Torrontes is Argentina’s signature white grape. Yellow with greenish tint, it produces highly aromatic, fruity, crisp and refreshing, food-friendly wines. On the nose, abundance of floral notes, a touch of orange zest and tropical fruit.
The palate brings vibrant acidity and flavors of lemon drops and stone fruit. Fruity, floral and still dry, it makes a great companion to a variety of dishes. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day and “drinkin’ the green”; pair with delicious green apple & walnut salad.
