This wine is made from grapes from organic vineyards in accordance with the rules of the European Union and the United States. The vines are planted on limestone soils without irrigation and with very poor yields, rainfall does not exceed 300 mm annual and it helps to obtain top quality grapes without adding any pesticides.

Made from Monastrell (aka Mourvèdre), an indigenous Spanish grape grown for centuries in the southern region of Jumilla, Honoro Vera Organic is a young organic Spanish red wine produced by the Juan Gil winery.

The winery possesses 120 hectares of vineyards that grow in sandy, stony and limestone soils with extremely low levels of organic matter at an altitude over 700 metres above sea level. Despite its proximity to the Mediterranean sea, climate is Continental, with very little rainfall.

Harvested by hand, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a temperature of 25ºC. Then Honoro Vega Organic 2016 was kept refrigerated until its bottling.

This is a young, vibrant and, most important, unoaked wine that can be enjoyed over the next two years.

Interestingly, the Gil family owns another winery, Bodega Ateca, that produces equally pleasing red wines in the DO Calatayud with the same name, Honoro Vera.
