Izarbe Reserva Rioja Alavesa Tinto 2011

Deep-violet-red to the eye, this wine has aromas of black current, caramel and clove with a hint of thyme. Black currant and caramel continue onto the palate, accompanied by flavors of cranberry, licorice and dried hillside herbs.

There is a nice interplay of silky tannins and tempered acidity that continue into a butterscotch-tinged finish.
