DESCRIPTION
Iron Horse is a family-owned sparkling wine house in the Green Valley of Sonoma's Russian River Valley, one of the coolest corners of the county. Ocean Reserve is its Blanc de Blancs made in partnership with National Geographic to support ocean conservation, and this is the 2016.
Blanc de Blancs means it's made only from Chardonnay. Expect orange zest, lime and minerality on the nose, then lime, tangerine, green apple, lemon verbena and blanched almond on the palate. It's vibrant and steely, building to a bracingly crisp finish with a touch of creaminess.
Serve it cold, around 45F, in a tulip glass. It's a natural with oysters, crab, sushi or anything fried and salty. A great American alternative to Champagne, and a gift with a good story behind it.
Bottle size: 750ml
